Welcome to Hartsdale Podiatry

Dr. Mervyn Kaplan, DPM, has been practicing podiatry in Westchester for over 20 years, and has recently expanded his practice as Hartsdale Podiatry incorporating within the office the "Hartsdale Shoe Boutique" to fit his patients suffering from diabetic, arthritic, bunion and hammertoe foot problems with comfortable, stylish and roomy shoes.

Our philosophy at Hartsdale Podiatry is to consider prevention a pivotal element in avoiding major complications especially for the diabetic patient.

Regularly scheduled podiatric visits, including debridement of calluses and toenails, provide an opportunity for frequent foot examinations and patient education. Such visits can provide early warning of impending problems and subsequent modification of activity and care.

Affiliated with the Tappanzi Division of the Podiatric Medical Association, at Hartsdale Podiatry, we offer the most up-to-date services to treat heel pain management with OssaTron shock wave therapy, diabetic ulcers and wounds, in-office surgery, and access to surgicenter surgery.

We treat corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, foot and ankle sprains, bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, plantar fascitis, and foot fractures. We have in-office facilities for computer gait analysis, foot sonograms, foot x-rays, physical therapy and foot vascular evaluations. We also make orthodics, shoe inserts, shoe modifications, leg braces and night splints.

At the Hartsdale Shoe Boutique our patients can be custom fitted with stylish and comfortable shoes. And, for the benefit of our diabetic patients, we participate in the Medicare Diabetic Shoe Program.

Our office is ground level and wheel chair accessible. For our patients unable to travel, we make house calls. We accept most insurance payment plans.

Dr. Kaplan, a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Colgate University, has been in private practice in the New York Metropolitan area since 1969. He has served on the staff of the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and the Parkchester General Hospital.
