Orthopedic appliances are devices used to support, align, balance and improve the way we walk and function. Although commonly used to correct compensatory joint motion with its associated symptons, the proper use of orthopedic appliances can also delay or prevent deformity, as well as preclude surgery or prevent recurrences of deformities after surgery in some cases.

At Hartsdale Podiatry, we fabricate custom orthopedic appliances to help our patients feel and function better and to avoid problems or complications such as ulcerations, infections, neuropathy, poor vasculature and other disease states that places our patients at risk.
